Which business plan do you expect an investor will enjoy reading?

There are business plans that help you run your business and there are business plans that are going to help you secure and investor or a buyer of your business. The two are related but are they are not the same.

A business plan for investors has to support a proposition to invest in your business. Therefore the communication style will be very different to that which you would normally write for your own (internal) purposes Eg less use of industry speak and acronyms and more focus on those specific outcomes that an investor will be seeking to get a handle on when in reading your plan:

1) 25-40% (even higher for earlier stage companies) returns
2) Significant expansion opportunities
3) Well defined exit strategy
4) Well risk managed

Does your business plan pass the test?
